MEET AN INMATE??????

This is weird and can be controversial, reading through some blogs online, I came across this website "MEET AN INMATE". This website is all about some inmate in America looking for pen pals. This website hopes to bridge the gap between criminals behind bars and the outside world. This inmates are looking to share INTIMATE letters with just the right stranger. (Are you kidding me).

A quote from the site: "These incarcerated female and male inmates are paying a price for crimes they have committed. These inmates are very real and are seeking pen pals!  He/She will get excited when their name is called to receive a letter from you. Just think how lonely it must feel at mail call to never hear your name being called, especially after being locked up for several years and family and friends have deserted you. These inmates have nothing but time on their hands and can't wait to hear from you! Don't be shy, give it a try! Make the day of a lonely inmate!"

My view might be different from yours but why in the world would I or anyone in there right mind waste at least fifteen minutes of their life writing someone who has once or twice or thrice committed a crime or even killed their fellow human being. Yea I know we are in the 21st Century but please come on, like seriously we are encouraging this people to be in prison, to prefer prison more than there homes. For family and friends to desert them, then they must have done some deep, something humiliating, something degrading. These people should not be involved innocent lives.

The other day I watched a program, a lady from the UK who married an inmate in America on death row for couple of months and then tried to divorce him which took ages, and then she started  writing her husband's best friend in prison (all this through pen palling (if there is any word like that)) which led to her falling in love with him and she decided to marry him which was impossible because she was still legally married to her first husband who is still in prison. This boyfriend is also on death row.

I think involving yourself with someone in prison makes life more complicated. I have never been in prison before and by God's grace I would never. People outside get attached to in mates and this is how it starts (pen pals) (show me your friend and I would tell you who you are). These in mates make you fall in love with them, they will tell you they think about you 24/7, yes they do because they have all the time in this world in their hands, you outside don't.

People are in prison for a reason, let them serve their time and come out a better person. Prison should not be enjoyed that is why it's called "correctional facility". And for people who are in prison for life, what they need is a BIBLE. Post a Bible and a note "God be with you". This is a time for them to be closer to God, it is a time to think twice and reflect on what they have done, it is a time to pray and ask God for forgiveness, it is a time for them to write their families and tell them they have changed, it is a time for them to educate themselves.

According to this same site they wrote at the end: "  DISCLAIMERS: We (meet-an-inmate.com) accept NO responsibility for the accuracy of any content found within these pages. The appropriate safeguards should be used in communicating with any person(s) that you may meet through this service. By using this service, you agree to not hold us responsible for any costs, liabilities, attorney's fee or damages that you may incur. The ads placed on my service are written by the inmates and we are only the means by which their ads are published. To use this service you must be at least 18 years of age."

The people that set up this website knows that some people could damage their lives through this process, some of these cost some people their lives because when you withdraw from this so called pen palling, some in mate come out of prison and stalk you, it ruins some happy families.

Please it's better not to be involved than withdraw half way.

Thank you readers and God bless you,  as you know your comments are appreciated.
