Everybody dies but not everybody lives

Going through my mails, someone sent me this note and asked me to share, so here it is.................

Everybody dies but not everybody lives. Obiola you lived. Though it was short but then your life (living) wasn’t in vain. I remember Bowen days back  is SADLER Hall– the Barrister was your roomie and you poked fun at moi mildly bout moi hitling on another guy’s chic. Femi did refer to you as the gentle giant, I like to think of you as the Man amongst boys. You were the reason – most of your friends (clic) could finish from Bowen. Not that you paid their fee (at least not to my knowledge) but you were the voice of caution. The one that preached moderation. Your level of cool way out of this world. There was just one rule in Bowen and that was “thou shall not get caught” and I like to say you understood this rule too well and it rubbed off on other Bacosa members. You did make your mark, you took people for who they were on an encounter basis, you would still be friends with anybody, no matter the argument. You touched lives differently, I can’t help but think bout what would be said of me after am gone. This brings me to coining out my personal vision and mission statements. You life wasn’t in vain and I hope your death wouldn’t be, I do not vow but I promise “to not live less than a man and never to be a party to mediocrity, I promise that when my opportunity comes to effect changes on how things are done in this country,  like Dora Akunyuli(when she was newly appointed Nafdac Boss) it won’t be business as usual, I would do my best possible to leave indelible marks on the sands of time”. Your favorite phrase “guy, how far now…bake bread now” is remembered by all,I guess its the heavenlies turn to bake bread with you.

Obi, on the same ill-fated flight, was another Bowenite, Damilare you probably didn’t know him cos he was admitted after you graduated, he is your brother – watch out for him. I like to think the journey to the other side of the lake is perilous.
Damilare wasn’t known to most of us that have graduated, but we can’t shake off the feeling that he prolly walked the paths we once trekked, sat or slept where we once did. Damilare – you won’t be forgotten.
To every fallen risen Bowenite (risen cause to rise with Christ is the ultimate) Adura, Tubo, Dupe and the ones that died on the way (that didn’t graduate) rest on in the bosom of your LORD.
To everybody that is glad to be associated with BOWEN, yesterday it was Reverend Adeleke and Pastor Tayo, today its Obi and Dami, tomorrow it could be me, it could be you – so, lets us each work out our own salvation with fear and trembling – a man for himself, GOD for everybody. No one knows the hour, today we are above the soil, tomorrow, it could be above us, when the time comes what will be said of you.
I pray that when my time comes, I would have met JESUS, I pray and hope GOD the FATHER, JESUS CHRIST  and the HOLY SPIRIT will be with me so I can look death in the eye balls and tell the bastard to go rot in  hell.
Obiola and Dami – Arinako odi ojuala – Goodnight, rest on in the bosom of your LORD.
Bowen Community loves you.
